Stalking history

By accident rather than design, I am stalking history.

For nearly ten years I lived not too far from Arthur Conan Doyle's house in Tennison Road, South Norwood, London. The fact that I lived in the area is one of the main reasons I wrote my book The Norwood Author. I felt that I was the best placed, geographically if nothing else, to put the book together.

Now I find myself in Haslemere because I came here for the Festival in 2012 and also on research trips in connection with my 2011 book An Entirely New Country. I discovered that I liked it and so I moved here.

I guess Crowborough is the next stop.....
