Moves to name a lake after Arthur Conan Doyle

The South Norwood Tourist Board are making efforts to get the lake in South Norwood Country Park named "Lake Conan" in honour of Arthur Conan Doyle.
I don't understand why they are not going for "Lake Conan Doyle" or "Lake Doyle" but there you go. Perhaps it is because Conan is more unusual.
